INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • 2 brown onions, diced
  • 2 red apples, peeled and diced
  • ˝ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 800 g canned tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper

METHOD

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add in the onion, apple, mustard seeds and sauté for five minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, tinned tomatoes and smoked paprika and bring to the boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before transferring to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Transfer to a container and store in the fridge.
